"The good news about the kingdom of God
and the name of Jesus Christ"
ACTS 8:12

God is our heavenly father who made us and loves us and he wants us to love and trust him too.

Unfortunately we have all struggled to overcome our own desires and have gone our own way. The result is the violence and corruption we see in the world around us. But God still wants us to know him and the blessings of walking in his ways.
He continues to work with us and has promised a saviour who will overcome sin and bring blessings for all nations - a king who will lead his people with true peace and justice (2 Peter 3:9, Isaiah 2:2-4, 35:10, Psalm 72, Romans 2:7, Micah 6:8).

God wants us to be a part of this age to come and offers forgiveness to those who repent.
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us."
1 John 4:9-10

In the New Testament this saviour is revealed to be Jesus, God's son and chosen king. Jesus showed many signs of his authority from God and like the prophets of old, he called for us to turn our hearts back to God, to repent and change our ways.
Unfortunately many did not believe or want Jesus as their king. They plotted to kill him. God knew that Jesus would be rejected, but he had a bigger plan to bring more people to him.
Jesus died and rose again so that we would believe and repent. This was not easy. He was a man like us who struggled with sin, but he chose to do God's will, rather than give into his own desires. He trusted in God to raise him from the dead and died for us. This is how he conquered sin within himself and became the perfect king (Luke 2:42, Hebrews 2:17-18, 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22).

God raised Jesus from the dead and exalted him with power and glory to his right hand. Jesus called his disciples to proclaim the good news of his coming kingdom to all the earth and called those who believe and repent to be baptised for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 1:9-11, 2:23-24, Philippians 2:8-11, John 3:17, Luke 24:46-47).
"...now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
Acts 17:30-31

When Jesus returns, he will raise the dead and give the faithful eternal life, free from temptation to sin. (Daniel 12:2, John 5:26-28, 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, 51-54).

All governments will eventually submit to Jesus Christ, who will rule as a fair and righteous king, from Jerusalem over the whole earth (Psalm 72:1, 8-11; Luke 1:32-33).
Jesus and the faithful will teach everyone about God's ways (Isaiah 2:2-3, Micah 4:1-4, Hab 2:14; Revelation 5:9-10).

The earth will become beautiful again and everyone will enjoy long life, good health, peace and prosperity. (Isaiah 2:4, Micah 4:5, Psalm 72, 12-14, Isaiah 11:3-4, Zechariah 8:12, Isaiah 35:1-6,10, 25:8, 65:20, Revelation 21:4).
"He... will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares... Nation will not take up sword against nation..."
Micah 4:3

No one knows when Jesus will return (Matthew 24:36), but the Bible has told us major events to watch out for as his return approaches.

The most significant of these centre around the nation of Israel. God has repeatedly promised throughout the Old Testament that he will preserve Israel because of the faithfulness of their father, Abraham (Jer 31:35-37).
Not long after Jesus' ascension, Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in AD70 and the people of Israel were scattered to all nations. However, as forewarned by Jesus this was only for a time. Nearly 1900 years later, in 1948, Israel was declared a state in the land again (Luke 21:20-24).
Israel's return and continued existence, against the odds, is testimony to God's word (Ezekiel 36:24, Isaiah 43:3-12, Deut 28:64-67, 30:1-6, Jeremiah 30:10-11) and gives us confidence that, as promised, Israel will become the centre of God's worldwide kingdom to come when Jesus returns as king (Ezk 38:21-23, Zech 14:3, Acts 1:11, Dan 2:44-45, Isaiah 11:9).

"I have declared and saved. I have proclaimed...
Therefore you are My witnesses,” Says the Lord, “that I am God."
Isaiah 43:3-12

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance"
2 Peter 3:9
